For your consideration I have this gorgeous and extremely rare first generation Montblanc Meisterstück 144 Fountain Pen with matching Pix 172 pencil. The fountain pen is the very first edition of the 144 with the flat'ski slope' ebonite feed that was made from c1949 and c1955. Barrels and caps of celluloid with an ivory colored Montblanc star on top of the cap and push button.

Features a telescopic piston mechanism and. Is fitted with a 14K-585 two-tone nib in a flexible Double Broad (BB) point. Writes from BB to BBB+. The cap ring is marked "- MONTBLANC - MEISTERSTÜCK ".

The barrel end is marked'144' and'BB. The pencil takes 1.18mm leads. The cap ring is marked " MONTBLANC - PIX - ".

The cap is marked'172. Both the 144 and the 172 are 100% functional (no restoration done).

The fountain pen's piston operates very smoothly and draws the full amount of ink. Cosmetically both pens are in what I would call'near mint vintage' condition. The celluloid and gold filled parts show just micro scratches. No deep scratches, cracks or loss of gold fill. The pencil shows a bit of'barrel shrink' making the cap rings not fit tightly (can be rotated).

The pens come in a 1950s green leather Montblanc pen case that also is extremely well preserved and shows just marginal signs of use. The photo's are an integral part of the description. Responsible for the duration of the service to your country.
