Beautiful Montblanc 149 Fountain Pen from the 1980/90s with lustrous black resin body, gold-plated trim and 14K gold rhodium-coated medium nib. Pen is used but in mint condition, with no damage, scratches, dents or repairs. Length 14.7cm (5 7/8in) capped, weight circa 32g.

Introduced in 1952 (and largely unchanged ever since), the Meisterstück (masterpiece) 149 is Montblancs flagship fountain pen and symbol of high quality luxury writing, reckoned by many to be the best pen in the world. The cap and barrel are crafted in black precious resin featuring the iconic white Montblanc emblem inlaid in the cap top. The cigar-shaped 149 has a long history.
