Thanks for looking at this Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 friction fit fountain pen. It's quite easy to narrow the date range for this immensely popular fountain pen because of its distinctive features. It has grooves on the face and shaft of the feed.

Everything for this period is correct on this 149. It has the face and shaft grooves, the friction-fit piston mechanism, an 18c tri-tone nib, a single-unit barrel and grooves to the top of the clip. The standout feature of this pen is the gorgeous 18c tri-tone EF nib. It is a lovely precise writer with plenty of'tooth'. It is filling and emptying superbly. The friction-fit 149s are especially treasured because of how much ink they can hold. It is in really nice used condition. It has been used and there are signs of this use. There are no cracks or any significant damage at all but there are a couple of scratches to the barrel. The snowcap is pristine, the ink-window has some ink staining but it's easy to see ink level, the nib is in lovely fettle with a gorgeous patina to it.
