The pen has been very lightly used and is presented in overall excellent condition. Only 7000 were produced and this is number 0472. Ever year Montblanc honour a great literary figure, as part of their writers limited edition. In 2016 it was William Shakespeare.

The colourscheme of the pen takes its inspiration from the broad scope of Shakespeare's work, from comedies to dark dramas - hence black and white resin. The flags raised above the Globe theatre, were also either black or white, depending on the play.

The white barrel has an engraving reminiscent of a quill and the clip is a nod to the gold earring the Shakespeare wore in his famous portrait by Chandos. The octagonal shape of the cap recalls the Globe Theatre. The pen is fitted with a new rollerball refill.
